Research projects:

Christian received his Master degree in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen University, in 2010. His Master thesis focused on use of location predictive techniques for automatic thermostat control and was done at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh under supervision of Prof. Anind Dey. The work he started during his thesis led to an ongoing research project which not only focuses on automatic control, but also investigates how sustainable user behavior can be influenced by just-in-time recommendations and visualization of past behavior. Prior to his 10 month stay in Pittsburgh he worked as a network administrator for three years. During his studies and thesis work Christian obtained knowledge in interface design and evaluation, mobile device programming (most notably Google Android), preparation and execution of field studies, along with knowledge in Java, PHP, HTML/CSS. He also started to get his feet wet with Adobe Flex.
