Iryna Pavlyshak received her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University in her home county Ukraine. During her study she was an exchange student  at Fridrich-Alexander Universität, Germany.

She began to consider studying and working in Human-Computer Interaction area while working as a research assistant at the Cylab at Carnegie Mellon University, USA. In her work Iryna saw a continual interplay between humans and machines and decided that she wants to bring to society technology not only for its usefulness, but also for ease of use, effectiveness, and pleasure.

So, Iryna joined a Dual Degree Professional Master’s program in Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University, USA and University of Madeira, Portugal, which appealed to her because of an industry-orientated, interdisciplinary and cross-cultural program.

At one point or another, Iryna has been involved into all stages of the product life cycle – user research, visioning, design, evaluations, and prototyping. For her Master's Capstone Project, Iryna worked on reimagining and rebuilding web portal experiences for the SAPOKids web portal.  Also, her past experience as a User Experience Research intern at Microsoft proved that as a user experience expert Iryna can bring a significant value to products that millions of people use every day.

In her spare time Iryna likes discovering new places and meeting new people.  She thinks each person is interesting and you can learn something from everybody. Also, Iryna enjoys doing decorative arts, sports activities, and playing card games.
